Truffle-Infused Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1 kg (2.2 lbs) potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • ½ cup heavy cream (or milk for a lighter version)
  • 1–2 tsp truffle oil (adjust to taste)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh chives or parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook potatoes:
    • Place chopped potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water.
    • Add a pinch of salt and bring to a boil.
    • Cook until potatoes are tender (about 15–20 minutes). Drain well.
  2. Mash potatoes:
    • Return potatoes to the pot or a mixing bowl.
    • Add butter and mash until smooth.
  3. Add cream and truffle oil:
    • Gradually stir in heavy cream until desired consistency is reached.
    • Add truffle oil and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Serve:
    • Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with chopped chives or parsley.
    • Serve warm as a luxurious side dish.
