Ingredients (Serves 4)
- 1 kg (2.2 lbs) potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- ½ cup heavy cream (or milk for a lighter version)
- 1–2 tsp truffle oil (adjust to taste)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh chives or parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook potatoes:
- Place chopped potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water.
- Add a pinch of salt and bring to a boil.
- Cook until potatoes are tender (about 15–20 minutes). Drain well.
- Mash potatoes:
- Return potatoes to the pot or a mixing bowl.
- Add butter and mash until smooth.
- Add cream and truffle oil:
- Gradually stir in heavy cream until desired consistency is reached.
- Add truffle oil and season with salt and pepper.
- Serve:
- Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with chopped chives or parsley.
- Serve warm as a luxurious side dish.
